| Interesting the topic of buses, things change very little over the years, I can remember after Saturday dances at Drill hall having to walk to ROFFEY rain or shine, even after Pictures at Ritz,or Odeon if last bus was full its quite a step from Carfax and if half way up KINGS RD it rained, well need i go on, many a night trousers went through the wringer. But i was young and in love, so who cared about the weather. Mind you I am going back a bit 1960s, Any one else remember as we used to walk in groups. As for Southwater many a time a walk with Mum to the Brickworks to see Dad who had forgotten his lunch.( i cheated could hitch a ride in Puschair when little legs tired). Yvonne

Thanks for sharing your memories with us Yvonne. Your post and some of the others recently have made me think maybe we should have a "Horsham Memories" section where people can post text and images about their memories of Horsham in days gone by. I know you said you have written down a lot of things. Perhaps you and others would like to share some of these memories with anybody who may be interested (the non-personal ones obviously)

| Thankyou for your note, i think the idea of Horsham memories and photos of years ago will prove very interesting. I have many and to start it off does anyone remember the Cattle market? this used to be a school outing trip, great fun. Comfy coaches from Roffey corner to Horsham via round the lane. Court Royal theatre with not then famous stars like Leo Genn, Earl Cameron and many more even some local talent. Lets see if these subjects bring some thoughts. Thank you for the time you spend making it possible for people like me to still feel connected with what i still regard as home even if progress has changed many things, memories stay the same. Regards Yvonne.
